Named for one of the most critically and famous composers in Western music, the Bach loudspeaker has originally been designed for - and dedicated to - the North American Market. From the early days of our first generation Bach Classic in1995 to the second generation Bach Grand, performance and high value have always been hallmarks of this model.
Today, 30 years after the first introduction of Bach to North America, we celebrate 300 years of Johann Sebastian Bach with our Limited Edition BACH Ultimate.
The aspect of Bach’s mathematically precise compositions that demanded astoundingly inventive solutions to musical problems is fully evident in the Vienna Acoustics speaker that bears his name. Achieving an unbelievable sound stage in such a compact floor-standing enclosure, this diminutive two-way design delivers a performance that belies its size.
BACH Ultimate features our exclusive 7” XPP cone mid/bass driver. The material formulation “X3P” is a mixture of Vienna Acoustics’ proprietary TPX, the unique thermoplastic used in all XPP cones, and three polypropylene based synthetics (hence X3P), resulting very high inner damping, while providing hugely increased stability and rigidity, which made the large cone dimension achievable. Combined with a new inverted rubber surround design that constitutes a breakthrough in no loss damping of cone edge resonances, this cone material allows the driver to provide an extraordinarily wide bandwidth, while possessing a level of inner detail, quietness, and control that is truly remarkable. The result is a midrange with greatest clarity and warmth combined with bass extension, speed and power.
Like its considerably grander companions, LISZT / BEETHOVEN REFERENCES, BACH Ultimate features our exclusive hand coated silk dome tweeter, which reveals even the slightest nuances with natural ease, while extending well down into the midrange regions. The result of this carefully chosen combination creates a milestone in terms of naturalness, clarity and ease of reproduction.
A dedicated linear crossover layout, with the copper circuit paths carefully arranged, takes into account the potential for sympathetic and parasitic interactions among crossover components that may inject unwanted noise and distortions while allowing for more direct and efficient transfer of signal to the drivers which leads to a greater level of detail and purity. All decisions concerning individual components and the layout of the circuitry were as always made through extensive listening tests by Peter Gansterer. Specially selecting each component results in a harmonious musicality, while a sophisticated layout helps in clarifying instrumental timbres.
Handcrafted enclosures, carefully built to true furniture grade standards, define the Vienna Acoustics aesthetics. BACH Ultimate is manufactured in hand-selected, finest Premium Rosewoood veneer.
