Never resting in its pursuit of the ultimate in cable technology, Shunyata developed four new core processes in its Alpha-X speaker cables. The patent-pending TAPc (transverse axial polarizer) reduces the size of the prior HARP modules and improves efficiency. Acting much like a polarizing filter does in front of a camera, the HARP module breaks up current resonances in the signal as it travels down the cables — and dramatically contributes to the increased resolution these premium cables deliver.
The conductors in Alpha-X are a proprietary VTX-Ag design that utilize a center conductor of pure silver combined with an outer concentric ring of copper, which is kept separate with high quality fluorocarbon insulation. VTX-Ag provides the speed and clarity of silver with the warmth and three-dimensionality of copper — along with none of the drawbacks of either metal. Alpha-X also undergoes four days of KPIPv.2 processing (Kinetic Phase Inversion Process), which dramatically decreases cable burn-in time and offers a lifelike, electronic-free sound.
