Audio lovers familiar with Luxman will not find it strange that the venerable high-end company — which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2025 — waited until 2024 to release its first network streamer, NT-07. Getting everything exactly right the first time and refusing to rush into product development for the sake of profit have long been Luxman hallmarks. The Japanese-made NT-07 is no exception to this proud tradition.
Designed to be paired with an external DAC of your choice, the 3.6 x 17.3 x 15.7-inch (HWD) NT-07 exemplifies sonic finesse and exemplary craftsmanship. Playing music with elevated degrees of naturalism, purity, detail, truth, and a touch of warmth, NT-07 is on a par with Luxman’s finest amplification components — and a device that combines technological sophistication, advanced engineering, and top-flight parts to give you, the music listener, countless hours of pleasure and tremendous ease.
Able to support up to 32-bit/768kHz and 22.5MHz DSD, NT-07 boasts onboard compatibility with Qobuz, TIDAL, Spotify, and TuneIn. Built-in core MQA decoding comes with three selectable modes: “off”, “core decoding,” and “pass-through.” These features complement an intelligent resampling function that matches the sampling frequency and bit depth of your connected DAC. Another huge bonus: The presence of both an HDMI ARC input (for TVs, Blu-ray players, game consoles) and HDMI output (for two-channel playback with 24-bit/192kHz encoding) that allows it to deliver stellar fidelity not only with your music, but with film and event viewing.
Fine-tuned during its years of development by expert designers, the heart of NT-07 relies on a reference-grade power supply with large-capacity OI-type transformer and two custom-made 10,000uF filter capacitors. Its core processing stages leverage next-gen high-speed processor modules while its elegant casing and stable feet incorporate vibration-damping properties to further ensure ruinous noise remains suppressed. The touch and feel of NT-07 alone tell you this is no ordinary streamer.
Compatible with the OpenHome UPnP standard and scheduled to be Roon ready by summer 2024 (please contact us for details), NT-07 can also read source data stored on a dedicated music server or network attached storage (NAS). Opting for the latter with noise suppression and enhanced linear power supply can achieve even higher quality when accessing high-resolution data. For added convenience, NT-07 includes USB terminals on the front and rear panels. Plus, you’ll find an easy-to-read high-def EL display that shows song title, artist name, and audio format details right in the center of the elegant front panel.
